In my opinion the 6-series has held its flair quite well over the past years. One thing that I came to think of that it seems to have been around forever... those who say it looks dated today are generally the same people wo did not like it when it was introduced, did not come to understand the design and now they are sick of it.

Introducing a range-topper like this in a models midlife is a great way to boost it, together with a FL. Now, I don't think we will se a 6-series CSL. It should have been reealed in connection with the FL according to our sources...

I hope this theory persists with the M6 CSL. I really do want to see that glorious V10 being put to good use in lightweight coupe. Besides MB are making Black Series SL as well so I dont see why BMW shouldnt make an M6 CSL? Unless they're going to give us the same BS about how BMW doesnt need to make a sports car...

i think you miss interpretated something there - "they" just ruled out that bmw doesn't need a fancy super duper sports car which is just a styler and image pusher
but a m6 csl would be a pure performance car, without any bling bling

That would be ideal. BMW do not need a single supercar wannabe product to boost the brand image, what they need to do is to make sure that the market leading sportiness image is not lost due to all that SUV crap (it does not matter that they build the sportiest and most involving SUV:s on the market since that is like saying that "we build the sportiest tractors"). I think the way to keep on track is to create another working class GT3 (as the previous CSL was) rather than try to go into CGT territory... because to me the GT3 is more of a sportscar than the CGT will ever be.

Actually I didnt misinterpret "them". I am just one of those BMW fans that doesnt buy all the bull crap about BMW not needing a sports car. IMO Sports cars are BMW's DNA and their sportiness is exactly what distinguishes them from their rivals, but BMW has obviously lost their sense of direction by their growing greed to make money spinning crossovers.... anyways this issue has been discussed dozens of times on GCZ and frankly it has become long in the tooth so I am not going to discuss it any further.

Back to topic. I desperately want to see the M6 CSL because the CSL is the only thing BMW has given us which is remotely close to a sports car. I wonder what our "Creative Marketing" team can tell us about the future plans of the M6 CSL.

Last thing I heard was that it was due in connection with the release of the FL, so I guess that it will not happen.

True sportscars like the E46 CSL is my favourite sort so I very much hope that the CSL-franchise is not ditched due to BMW having the dithers over CO2-emissions and such crap.

lighter = lower emissions
so in my opinion the CSL brand would fit perfectly in todays requirements
i would personnally prefer something like a Z2 CSL with little over 700kg and around 250HP - thats were fun begins

250 hp, RWD, 700 kg....sounds like a dream

^^^ We're talking about a small roadster below Z4 here, not M6.
A hardcore lightweight version of a tiny Z2 roadster sounds pretty awesome to me
