Does anyone have any idea when we will see the MDCT in the m6 and m5?

The M5 and M6 are already very fast with the DSG tranny so they will unlikely get the M-DCT box. Not only will the difference in performance be very minimal but it would cost BMW quite some money to do testing and all.

From operations point of view it will make sense to harmonise the transmission system across the model lineup.

1. Spreading the cost, possible discount due to increase volume
2. Increased efficiency during installation in assembly process
3. After sales support: easier to fix a system that is widely used across the lineup thus reducing the need for specific transmission training.

etc...
