I thought that the 2008 6er already came out? This (BMW corporate) car is driving around in Munich since roundabout two months ...

Mercs executives are speaking of mid-term for the DiesOtto, don't know what it means in years; maybe 5-10 years.

Yes Pekka, looks like the FL model, surely a pre-model for testing some features like the lane-assyst ( or the twin machine-guns?).

Details are in on the 2008 BMW 6 Series coupe and convertible, and besides the updated pricing, there are a few slight revisions on tap for the new model year.

On the exterior, the observant will note a restyled front airdam with a larger, reshaped opening, new headlight lenses, revised 18- and 19-inch wheel designs, LED taillights, and a reshaped trunklid with a taller spoiler and incorporated third brake light. Inside, brushed aluminum trim on the iDrive controller and radio knobs are both new, while the 650i Convertible gets Sun Reflective seats, to keep them cool in bright daylight.

A few changes have been made to the 6 Series' technical specification as well, with the new Sport Automatic transmission offering throttle-blips on downshifts, and the SMG option being discontinued. The 19-inch wheels offered with the Sport Package are also lighter than before, resulting in reduced unsprung weight. An optional Lane Departure System is now available, giving warning when the vehicle crosses into another lane without the turn signals being activated, and Active Cruise Control is also a new option, allowing the vehicle to decelerate all the way down to a stop in heavy traffic.

Pricing for the 2008 BMW 650i starts at $76,375 for the coupe and $83,474 for the convertible model.

Our dealer already has the new facelifted models in his showroom! They had a 635d Coupé and a 635d Convertible there, when I visited it last weekend. I really have to say, that the new design elements look great on this car. Also the rear lights, that I didn't like on all pictures look awesome in reality!
