when will we see spyshots of this M6 CSL?

Officially for now it is a Concept Car so until production approval is granted (in the Autumn) After IAA . We should see the prototypes.

The ZSG will make it's serial production debut in the BMW M3. Because the technology will be shown in Frankfurt for the first time it will be showcased in the M6 CSL.

Frankfurt 2007 marks the fourth anniversary when in September 2003 The first BMW 6er Coupe drove onto the stage in the BMW Pavillion.

The LCI of the BMW 6er Coupe and Cabrio will make it's world debut in Frankfurt. Illustrating the latest but minimal changes the spotlight will be on the M6 CSL and the first diesel engined 6er Coupe.
Although it is (counting serial production) four years old but still looks modern , futuristic and dynamic. It has aged well...

The new BMW M3 also makes it's World debut @ Frankfurt in production guise. It is far too early to see the M3 CSL as BMW want to have all focus on the production car.
Look at the timeframe concerning the M6 CSL and you can see it is the right time.

IAA will be Coupe heaven with the introduction of the BMW M3 Coupe , BMW 1er Coupe , BMW 6er Coupe and Cabrio LCI , BMW M6 CSL Concept Car plus two more world debuts - One being another Concept car.

In straight line maybe.

And i really doubt BMW really want it because this means Huge huge investment. An M3 CSL is much more credible candidate.

Like I said earlier: my sources told me 6 would be the star of IAA. Meaning what? 6er LCI + M6 CSL only, or X6 Concept as well?

Well if GM can come up with something like the Z06, why can't BMW ?!

But I agree it should be an M3 CSL.

how are they getting the extra 50hp? Are they just doing a basic cpu and intake change or are they going to give this thing an extra half litre of displacement?

Let me clear something: Don't think a second that i am doubting about the competence of BMW's engineers, they are on top of their art. All what i am saying is: Like all other bimmers, the 6 has some some serious sporty skills but it's still a heavy GT while the 911 is made from the begining to be a real sport car ( i know, all things are relative but the 911 remains sportier than the 6) and so to make this heavy GT competing aigainst the most hardcore version of the 911, BMW will have to invest heavily in lightweight materials ( 1395 kg vs 1710 KG), chassis optimization etc... and why BMW would do it ? The 6 CSL wil be probably a limited version, so they will loose money and it has been stated clearly that one of the top actual priority is Profit so... Brand perception ? BMW has already a diamond reputation, and if they absolutely want to offer a comptitor to GT3, they can focuse on the M3 because the job woul be easier.

No need to do it, they already pulled out about 590 hp (9000 rpm in place of 8250 rpm) without any problem. They didn't creat an all new engine to use it for one single generation, THE MOTORSPORT V10 has an enourmous potential.

Well just throwing more revs in the mix wont make that extra 50hp all that usefull. Increasing the borh isnt as big of deal as you might think and making the car limited production means that it could be hand done-no need to implement it into the production line.
