You beat me to it.

However the 996 GT3 is neutral at rear, while the 996 GT3 RS is downforce not uplift. So my guess is that the wing is there for downforce, not uplift.

On the bimmer uplift wouldn't be good, but neither downforce on those unsuited Continental tyres.

The wing will adversely affect handling and stability becasue it was not designed to work with the aero package of that car. Even putting that wing on a 996 you have to change the front spoiler to match the rear spoiler/wing, otherwise the aerodynamics are all wrong.

BTW, I saw a Mitsubishi Evo wing I think would look great on my Gallardo, I think I can make it fit
