Maybe it doesn't help that I had the pic of the F/Led 5er as my wallpaper and have got used to it now! | If you compare these two pics you will see the differences are quite small. The facelifted 5er has new transmission stick, new steering wheel, new iDrive knob, relocated side-window controls, more chrome strips (radio volume knob, air-con vents), redesigned lower part of the center console under the CD/DVD system and new shortcut buttons for improved iDrive.

Autospies video on the facelifted 5-Series. I must say the car does look somewhat better now, especially in White and Interlagos Blue: - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

I don't get the extra piece of black plastic around the new gearlever.
Well, actually I do, but I hate (what I think is) the reason for it: cost cutting. With this piece of plastic, they didn't have to change the shape of the wood around it facelift: Photoshop: | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to klier For This Useful Post: | | | GCZ's High Court

Never noticed that before. What does it look like in the manual trans cars? That is probably why its like that.

Nothing like that, even better. There's only leather around and that's it. | | | | | Contributor

Interesting. Must have something to do with protecting the wood or something, dunno??

Whatever the purpose is, i don't care! It's really a cheap, very cheap piece of plastic! Looks and feels crappy! : | | | | | Contributor

Man, i was really pissed off when my car arrived and when i've noticed that even with all options inside, they didn't remove that part or put something better instead. Quote:
