Maybe it doesn't help that I had the pic of the F/Led 5er as my wallpaper and have got used to it now!

If you compare these two pics you will see the differences are quite small. The facelifted 5er has new transmission stick, new steering wheel, new iDrive knob, relocated side-window controls, more chrome strips (radio volume knob, air-con vents), redesigned lower part of the center console under the CD/DVD system and new shortcut buttons for improved iDrive.

I don't get the extra piece of black plastic around the new gearlever.
Well, actually I do, but I hate (what I think is) the reason for it: cost cutting. With this piece of plastic, they didn't have to change the shape of the wood around it

Never noticed that before. What does it look like in the manual trans cars? That is probably why its like that.

Man, i was really pissed off when my car arrived and when i've noticed that even with all options inside, they didn't remove that part or put something better instead.
