Fuel effciency has also improved. Translated from BMW.de:

"The two eight-cylinder engines of the new BMW 550i and the new BMW 540i with 270 kW/367 HP and/or 225 kW/306 HP state the engine pallet. BMW 550i fuel on a distance of 100 kilometers uses only 10.9 litres (sedan) and/or 11.2 litres (Touring). Also BMW 540i its sporty performance with a remarkable efficiency crowns: 10.5 litres fuel ever 100 of kilometers.

Particularly favorable values consumed exhibit the three row six cylinder engines with gasoline direct injection BMW 523i, BMW 525i and BMW 530i. The row six cylinder numbers BMW of the 523i, 525i and 530i owe its economy to the innovative direct injecting procedure High Precision Injection. I much prefer the new fog lamps on this FL 5er to the previous fog lamp units.

M5 Touring: Still not a big fan of the exterior, but I'm glad it's finally come out. Can't wait to see comparsions between it and the E63.

Actually yeah. Even without the M guise, I think the 5er Touring looks better than the 5er Saloon.

i dont agree.. sedan over this anyday.. this is just wrong

The 5er facelift is rather interesting. I gotta say though that I prefer the pre-facelift look of the 5er. I never had a problem with the interior of the original E60 5er.. but if you guys say it's much improved... then hey.. all is good!!

As for the M5 Touring... well it's just as menacing as the sedan. Lovin' it just like I love the E55/63 Touring.

You know.. suddenly the facelift of the 7er is starting to make a little sense. Looks like BMW is adopting the 'smiley mouth' look. The facelift 7er got it.. the 3er coupe got it.. and now the 5er. Hate to say it.. but it looks like BMW's selling out on their aggressive look in favour of a more acceptable appearance.

.. One other thing. What's with the chrome strip in this pic??

I agree with you totally, apart from in one case, I'd take the RS4 avant over the sedan version anyday, looks hot, and it's seemer more impressive smoking Ferraris and Porsches in an estate with the dog in the back, and the kids in the rear seats, than just in the sedan.

BTW, thanks for those IRL pictures JM, looks pretty good!
