No surprise, the S85 can put even no modded ~540 HP.
F1 inspired high rever, so plenty of juice to squize.
Question is, can the SMG III take the torque ?!

The german tuner 'Hamann' said they would produce a tuning package for the M5 E60 and make it produce 600hp. I havenīt heard anything that the car actually produced that much power or was even finished.
Itīs easy to author a press release that says so. But why would BMW have limited the engine to 507hp when a lot more would have been possible?
If itīs about the maximum thatīs possivle, a pre-production test-v10 produced ~700hp on an engine test bench, but the engine block could stand it.

1. to leave room for future upgrades
2. insurance issues
3. perhaps most important, SMG III torque limit

Deristricted, the V10 makes ~ 540 HP.
