The other transmssion could be a manual!
The german supplier LUK presented a new twin plate clutch for manual transmission and said that this system will be used in the M5 (!?); they could mean the M3 instead!?

Initially i thought that too but then found out that the 6 speed manual in the US M5 E60 is the "old" manual transmission already used in the 550! So we have a new manual and no use for it according to BMW!?

Your source? Because I find it hard to believe that LuK would make a press release where they mention M5 and 507 hp if it's not even used in the car...

Hmm, interesting...But that gearbox has surely passed certain modifications to handle all the power and torque...

The torque difference between the 550 and M5 is very little (i think about 20 lb/ft)...But i was wondering the same thing..

You're right about that little difference, but there's still a lot more power and "screaming" from M5's engine...

The gearbox stick looks so cheap and unattractive as compared with SMG stick. And DSC cannot be turned off? Why?
