Also don't forget the new TT V8 - I think it makes it worth while to wait for the new one. There are lot of people kicking themselves for getting the 330 when 335 was just around the corner.

Yeah that must suck Chonkoa! But are you going to replace the 330i or the X5 with the new F10 550i (V8 TT 408 hp)??

4.4L I think. Not too impressive considering its turboed and direct injected.

You are absolutely right my friend- it does vex me sometimes but that is the way it goes.
X5 is for the wife, so it certainly has to be the 330i.
The m3 would have been perfect but I hate the double hump navigation screen , and the small boot space- it is a struggle to fit the golf sets.
F10 with V8 TT 408+++HP

That's not very good at all considering that the V8 sitting in the Cayenne GTS is NA, has a displacement of 4.8L and has an output of 405hp.

Again: mind that N54 & N64 engines are initially offered with very modest power output - leaving A LOT of maneuvering space for up-tunes in the future.

The power output could be easily boosted to 450+HP but why do that if customers are happy & satisfied with 407HP? And also there is S85 V10 & the V12 engines which have to have some serious power advantage over V8 - to stand out & to offer some extra flair. So currently just over 400HP is an optimal setting for V8 TT. But in the future when new V12 & updated V10 engines are offered, when new models arrive, when competitors offer some serious rival engines, then it will be time to raise the bar again.

Mind that engine power outputs are marketing delegated, not showing "all the engineers can do". If it was all about engineers we would definitely get an 1000+HP BMW supercar.

^^
It's not just about the power, but more that they had to use turbo chargers to acheive that power. On the other hand turbo chargers increase the torque which is well suited for heavy executive sedans.

600 Nm to be precise. And the turbos have a positive effect on the milage, I bet the GTS Cayenne is way thirstier than the X6 5.0...
That and the fact that the next 5er will be lighter than the current one.
