So you're saying there is -again- too much concept cs in this ps?

The sharkfin nose and wide grille are here already..

Whilst taking time out on editing together the first reels for the 7er , (Slow approach focus on the car coming up a ramp focus on the details , show the flanks all whilst keeping the actual body shape in the shadows till the full reveal of a nice pull back of coastal South Africa , waves hitting the rocks the car being a dot in amongst the scenery. A full overhead helicopter shot of the car from birds eye view , camera rotate @ 360 and then edit to the helicopter shot of the full car seen charging along the coastal roads blue sea , white sand , blue skies) and that is about 10 sec. of footage.

I think these are possibly the best interpretations of the F10 I have seen so far , whilst not entirely accurate there is still the case that another illustrator has a bout of CS Konzeptitis especially in the front air intakes.

The headlights will be an update of todays car , placed right in the front edge of the wings , To further differentate the 5er from the 7er the front grille will be more squarer than the rounded surface of the 7er .
The rear of the car is very similar to todays car with the same shaped rearlight but will become more faired in and smaller and not completely wrap around the rear as of todays car.

They have really interpretated some areas correctly especially the flanks and the line that splits the surfaces in which the surface will remain as convex as todays cars not square surfaces like seem to be the mainstay of the upcoming E-klasse especially the rear of the car.

It's apparent that nearly everyone loves the CS concept's looks...so it seems to me that it would be a good idea for BMW to incorporate that look in to other cars.

BMW will never know how many sales were lost to Audi, Mercedes, Lexus and others due to its controversial (read: ugly) designs like the 7er and 5er. BMW is just shoving its head in the cloud of higher overall sales to justify whatever it has done in the past. Of course they sold more cars in recent years, so did everyone....but sales could have been much much higher if the 7er and 5er had a more appealing design.

I think the newer 3 coupe, 3 cabriolet and X5 have a fantastic exterior design and the CS concept is also quite attractive. It might serve BMW well to incorporate that design, that they should now know everyone likes, in to the broader range of product. It doesn't necessarily mean "same sausage different length" but merely incorporating a design that is more broadly accepted and admired as is the CS.

So when you see so many interpretations looking like the CS...don't criticize them for being silly and misinformed, but take them as type of request to have the design resemble something they really like and the public seems to like. When spending this much money on automobiles, people need to have an emotional attraction to them.

Those P-shops look fantastic! The car looks squat and aggressive, the way BMW's use to look. I think I'm going to be seriously infatuated with the next generation of BMW cars.

If the car turns out like this, I will be so happy! That looks fantastic, although I'm pretty sure the grill will be bigger

one thing that amazes me is that when the CS was first shown,i was amongst the very few who loved it..
it got tremendous hate from BMW fans..
and now its the base of all PS and all dreams BMW fans have..
its even been posted in a thread about cars that belongs in museums..
haha go figure
