Why do the mags keep saying that the F10 is coming in 2009 when its supposed to arrive in 2010?

one thing that we can be sure of, is that the rear door is almost certainly not more a straight line but a soft curve, which is regret, but all the other proportions seem just perfect

This was always very important to me as well, but I have seen that enough on the E46 3er now (The only BMW with that straight line???).
I don't really care about it anymore, since there is a curve in the backdoor on pretty much all models.
The only design thing I still don't really like about a BMW backdoor is when the wheelarch takes over the doorline, so to speak (I hope you understand what I mean, like the X5)

actually no, only the E90 doesn't have a straight line, the E65, E60 have it, it's a testament to the perfection of proportions that everything fits in just perfectly, that mystical ratio of overall length to wheelbase, sometimes you can't achieve for marketing reasons and/or engineering reasons, i.e. sometimes you need a particular rear and front legroom for marketing, or a particular wheelbase for handling, but its not something major, it's the extra je ne sais quoi of design that lies at the end seat of design theory, but give that specialness

You're right. I feel almost ashamed I forgot the E60/65 have this feature too.
