![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Positive feedback on 535d in the U.S. As found on Bimmerfest. 535d's were available for testdrives at Oktoberfest, which was held somewhere in Texas this year. The cars, of course, were provided by BMW NA. It's great to hear such positive feedback on diesels in the U.S. Hopefully this is indeed a sign of things to come. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |

If you post something about a 535d on Autolies, the Lexus fanboys will come in with their bullsh*t about how the GS450h is cleaner etc. Anyways, it's great to hear that Americans are finally warming up to diesels and seeing that you can combine driving pleasure with fuel economy. I wouldn't worry about emissions at all since modern diesels are clean and getting cleaner as engine design and catalytic converter technology improves. There's evidence that America is taking diesels seriously. I remember when Mercedes announced that they would sell only 2,000 E320 CDI's in North America, yet demand was so high that Mercedes soon found themselves selling 3,000+ E320 CDI's in America and Canada alone. Now that's a great sign. With the addition of the BMW 535d (and perhaps the 530d and diesels from Audi and VW), there will be a new market segment created in America - one that the Germans own. The diesel luxury / performance category. Good bye [overrated] hybirds. ![]() |
