hell yeah
im back
now seriously i dont mind BMW having turbo..
the can have kompressor if they want.. but the thing is..
BMW fans do this.. they always claim that what bmw is doing at a given moment is the only right thing to do.. and they diss other alternatives..
and this is not very healthy in the car industry
cuase if there is one thing we ALL can agree on.. its the fact that all brands are into making money..
and in one way BMW does not chose what they want to make.. the ppl chose..
and thats why if i was a BMW fan.. i would not diss the concept of the R class
i would not diss the concept of the smart..
things like that will most likely come back and bite you in the ass like this turbo thing just now did..

AMG fans.. or RS.. they have never dissed NA,Turbo or kompressor..
wich leaves them with a possibility to praise their brand in whatever direction they go..
and i know you would love that possibility..

PS
So bottom line.. one should not diss a concept.. of engines, cars whatever
if you cant see your own fav brand doing that.. and you hating it..

Donīt get me wrong, turbo engine would be no less than awesome..But,there is a but for me..You know?
I have said it somewhere else, and I will say it again: tradition simply for the sake of tradition is folklore. BMW is finally feeling the heat from MB and now Audi and their serious firepower. I belive BMW can bring a great and unique take to the turbo perspective. They are still the top dog to beat when it comes to sport, but they are not impervious to competition.

I agree on statement that sticking to tradition just because of it isnīt something to be proud of..That is true..As iI tried to point out,IMO "this" BMW tradition of not having forced induction M engines made M engines what they are now..I agree that times are changeing and BMWīs rivals are close or even ahead in developing and producing their own sports models than ever before,I know..but I only hope there is some strength left in N/A principle to fight back this compressor and turbo menace ...Thats all ..

I understand what you mean, but for the time being the S85 is in its first iteration and as such the need to use FI may still be out of the question.
The E39 M5 used the approximately 5.0 litre V8 S62B50 engine: about 0.618 litre/cylinder.
The current M5(E60) uses a 5.0 litre V10 S85B50 engine: about 0.5 litre/cylinder. It would seem to me that there is still more tricks up their sleeves to get more power and torque without the use of turbos.

With the above said, I see the M division increasing the displacement by 10% without sacrificing the high revving philosophy.
An S85B55 engine in conjunction with the engine management system from the M3 engine to manage the engine(torque and other characteristics) will in my humble opinion deliver the same result as tiny turbos.

I just can't see them doing this to the M5 after the mid-term facelift. If they do lookout, the next AMG E-Class will have 650hp.

650 HP ?Is this a fact or wishfull thinking?I mean,if it is true, that would be overkill IMO.It sounds crazy to me at this time,I donīt know..
