A 5.5 liters engine, doesnt that mean they have to rebuild the engine completly? If so, that must be very expensive so is it really worth it? What about Torque, is 580nm possible, even 600 nm? Raised redline to say 8400 rpm and the new DCT, do you think the M5 will get it? |

![]() ![]() | Re: BMW to boost M5 - power upgrade They should concentrate on weight saving as the RS6 is a heavy beast. If they can shed 100 kgs from it with 560 BHP that would be ideal IMO. I think the ceramic brakes should save something like 8 kgs unsprung mass per corner (I think this is what the 996 TT with ceramics had over the standard discs), which would have a marked effect on handling. |
