What also would be amazing is a non-M 5 series having 480hp under the hood.. that would be insane to say the least!

But yes, twin-turbo V10 with arond 600 horses under the hood would be ballistic!

BMW should not need a twin turbo to get 600 HP from the V10, I reckon a marginal increase in displacement by 10% with the M3 EMU will get you there.

With regards to the 480 HP non-M5 car, I reckon that will be the 4.4 litre TT V8. I honestly do not see them raising the power that much, my take it is that both power and torque will be limited to the low 400, very close to V10 output from the S6. We might end up seeing a 5 series that will take on the S6 the way the 335i takes on the S4/S5.

Tuned versions of that engine will make the M3 look silly on a freeway.

I agree,mate..480 HP from non-M model would be little to much to handle for average Joe who wants comfort traveling limo..You know,considering this rumour about TT-ing 5.0 V10..IMO I think it won´t happen,atleast in E60 5 series..There is plenty of juice left to extract from best performance engine in known Universe .

5.5L? So, i'm guessing that the power output will be increased by increasing displacement, not adding turbos...

If they give the M5 a 5.5L V10, the car will have a MINIMUM of 560 hp, to keep the current 101 hp per liter

Sounds like a good power increase. That will make the RS6 play second fiddle again.

Or 570 HP if the M3 is to serve as yardstick...
