You want the V10 engine, how much does it cost you? - 07-31-2007, 10:47 AM

Let's say you want to build a car but want en engine from a famous carmaker. Its BMW's new V10 you want but what does the engine cost you?

I got the answer from a guy who asked BMW that question and the swedish price is 128.000 kr (without cables etc etc).

I think 128.000 swedish kronor is like 11000 to 13000 Euro (correct me if Im wrong).

Intresting fact huh?

128 000kr($/€12 800)? That not terrible bad at all, but putting it inside a car adds are few bucks since you have to modify the engine, buy a new gearbox and a new exhaust system.

Could I just pick one up at a dealer?

Isn't there a tuner who put BMW V10 in an E46?

So I can buy a e90 and have a V10 thrown in and sell the E90 engine on ebay.

Hartge pushed down a V10 under the hood of an E90 for a cost at 120 000 euro 2 years ago.

I find 6cylinders on E46s are already a bit nose heavy, probably they didn't have the near perfect 50:50 back then.. but putting a V10 in the E46, it's nothing but quick in a straight line..
