I have also noticed that the interest in the automobile is heavily weighted to the current for very many people. Of course that's fine and keeps one focused and grounded in reality. Much of this is probably determined by personal experience regarding makes and models of cars. For me the history of the automobile is like an exciting story with heros (the engineer/designer- types) and villains (the business execs and investor-types) and products that can be likened to works of art.
