In Response to prices, they do seem a bit high, especially for that SL350. I wonder if they will slot in the 4.5L V8 sometime.

Ideally the SL350 would be like 10k Euros cheaper and they could slot an "SL450" for like 85. The SL350 is a little underpowered because of the weight. I guess it would be comparable to driving an E320 or E350, adequate for cruising.

I would think the 650i would have an edge in handling, because of its weight. The SL500 is a very hefty car, but does handle well given the hardtop convertible mechanism.

Even if the SL costs that much more than its competitors, the car SELLs, a testament to the vehicle's legacy, looks and abilities. I'll still be saying this is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed 25 years from now.
