Since the upcoming GLK-class has only automatic gearbox variants, and they all feature 7GTronic (even GLK 220CDI), I think it's safe to say that eventually the C-class will also drop the old & rubbish 5AT gearbox. But I think noone can tell you if that happens next year, or only in 2010 (when the C-class facelift is due).
In the case you wanna order a C-class now, consider getting C230 (petrol) or C320CDI instead of C220CDI. Then you can get 7GTronic now, and a much better engine either

In Turkey petrol prices are too high. I cant buy c320 cdi because of high tax rates. In turkey taxes are directly related with engine size.
