Re: S500 road test by Autocar-I drove it yesterday - 01-08-2006, 12:30 PM

Even though I was very disapointed upon second meeting, w/ all the hype, I still want to drive this car.[/quote]

Once again I have to caveat my oppinion since the car I drove was a "stripped down" black on black s550. The car does look great on the road(even in black which I dislike...). Those buttons btw are made of aluminum,my appologies for the previous complaint.
-The interior is huge and the seats are big and comfortable...I will have to wait for a real car with the 16 way adjustable seats to compare it to BMW,I see no reason to believe they won't be as good'
-The BMW and the Merc are vcery simmilar, the Merc is a minimalist approach and the BMW gives you sensory overload...I guess I preffer the BMW.gIVEN THAT THEY ARE BOTH VERY CLASSY AND BEAUTIFULL.
-The ride was dissapointing, enough power but not tight. It reminds me of the old Jaguar ride...or the new Lexus feel , you are on a cloud. Very quiet , fast and responsive but you don't feel the car and the road. In that sense if you preffer sporty then go BMW if you want tyat old BIG car lux ride then this is your car.Maybe the amg models will be better in this sense.

I guess I like the car a lot , it is distinctive looking and special . Dollar for dollaqr I would probably buy it over a 750...not sure about a 760 vs the MB600. It seems that the MB 600 will price at about $150,000. or higher in which case I would deffinitely get the BMW 760 at about $115,000. FULLY LOADED.
They will have pricing and options available next month and I will be able to make my decission then...I'll be taking European delivery in June so I'm cutting it tight, either way BMW or Merc I dont see how I loose
