Re: Porsche boosts power for Cayenne Turbo S - 06-18-2008, 03:51 AM

Porsche's grocery hauler with sports car genes, the Cayenne Turbo S, goes on sale Aug. 8 with a sticker price of $124,575, including shipping.

The 550-hp SUV headlines the five-vehicle Cayenne lineup, the rest of which goes on sale July 14. Prices on the holdovers rose slightly, Porsche said, because of added technology and the declining U.S. dollar.

The base Cayenne starts at $45,495, including an $895 shipping charge, and extends to the Turbo, which is $98,595. Add another $80 to the stickers on Aug. 1, when Porsche increases destination charges.

A new communication system, which launched in the Porsche 911, will be available on all of the '09 Cayennes, and includes a touchscreen, navigation, XM Satellite Radio and Bluetooth. It's standard on the Turbo and Turbo S models.

Cayennes with V8s will be available with ceramic composite brakes, which Porsche says improves deceleration and fading resistance.
