Actually, I don't hate the painting so much. The subject matter is not [traditionally] beautiful ...but there is something quite intriguing and monumental about it.


I really like the work of Fernando Botero ...everything he paints or sculpts is fat.




As far as art prices go, they have reached extravagant levels in recent times (same with rare contemporary design objects and antiques).

Last year this sculpture by Jeff Koons sold for $23.4 million
