Jeremy Clarkson tests the new 335i - 01-02-2007, 09:17 AM

BMW 335i SE Coupé
Jeremy Clarkson
It’s damn clever, for a dog

Stung by criticism of the more avant-garde styling seen on other models, BMW took a step back with this car and ended up with 14ft of automotive wallpaper. It’s just a bonnet, a cockpit and a boot. And the last one I drove was more dreary than shopping for bathroom cleaning products.

I really wasn’t holding out much hope, therefore, for its coupé sister, the 335i.

Why is my body telling me not to read JC reviews everytime they are about BMW?

Just take his articles as something you'd read off the Life/Entertainment section of your local newspaper then it wouldn't be so bad.

Jeremy's car reviews are always harsh, so it's better to be prepared before you read them. Especially If it's a car which you really like..

Thanks for the review James

I don't think you guys should be too diasppointed about his review. He really praises the 335i as an excellent performance car. He just thinks it looks ugly...which is subjective.

I share the opinion that clarkson reviews should be considered more entairtaining than informativ.

Yeah, I'd not usually be one to side with JC's opinion and I've seldom agreed with him emphatically. But, as with all subjective things, one could say that he is the world's best motoring journalist. His non-conformist opinions and magnificent way with words does put him on a pedestal of celebrity status that no other journo can match.

He's a bloody good journalist, whether he's right or wrong doesn't matter.
