You guys seem to disagree here. BTW: That's what I meant in the previous post. If the F30 starts in fall 2011, the early 'rollout' of the first prototypes is no surprise, but just following the usual schedule.

Though, this is not the first time we hear about an early launch for the next 3. Some even say the next M3 comes earlier, i.e. in 2013.

^ 5er will be presented this month (right Scott?), but will only go on sale after Geneva 2010. Something similar probably with the F30 @ IAA '11

That's possible, but unlikely. They don't present a car half a year in advance, as this would kill the sales of the E9x even more at that time.

Having completed the initial F10 location media work , Work will still commence till the World Premiere @ Geneva especially in regarding the launch material for Geneva and other other accompanying 5er "concepts" materials.
Geneva will be a big show for BMW with not only the 5er , M3 GTS and others I cannot talk about yet. But MINI will world premiere the production Crossover in Geneva instead of Detroit and Rolls-Royce will showcase something interesting.

The BMW stand will be larger in terms of space to accomodate the new 5er @ Geneva but not as expansive as the IAA. The indoor track idea was a huge success , and according to a survey carried out with visitors , the top attraction within the BMW hall. So the track will return @ the IAA in 2011. Question is who will copy the idea.

What is scheduled to debut from BMW at NAIAAS at Detroit in January 2010 or the LA auto show in December 2009? X3? No M3 GTS?

M3 GTS will not be sold in North America. Taken into consideration the cost of federalizing the car and the fact that certain extras would have to be replaced to make the car compliant defeats the entire purpose of the M3 GTS.
The 1er coupe run-out model is expected to follow the same fate.

With the advent of the M3 GTS. BMW have put a stop to the availability to buy off the shelf parts as what happened with the M3 CSL.
Like the later response after it was found that People were ordering the Carbon fibre appendages , BMW will only sell GTS parts if the customer has a GTS.
The M division is also working on making sure equipment stays exclusive to the GTS and that patents do not become interpreted with aftermarket suppliers. BMW are being extremely strict in this area that the M3 GTS will remain a BMW through and through and that there will be no interpretations of official patented parts as what happened to the CSL.

I was told that the 3er will debut @ Geneva 2012. With a press launch in late 2011. Geneva 2011 will see the 6er Coupe and after Geneva in late Spring will be the launch of the new 1er which will will have it's official premiere @ the IAA in 2011. As will the next M5.

Scott, Could you give us a few more details about the LEDs on the F30´s front?. Will this mean the car won´t have frontlights cluster and intead only the visible LEDs?.
