When you see the finished car which is pencilled in for Geneva 2012.
The 1er will debut in the summer of 2011 with the World Premiere @ the IAA in 2011. The 6er will debut @ Geneva 2011.

But with the details we can afford to be more adventurous , evolutionary design details work up to a point then they become boring and dated as time goes on , but the new 3er will retain the essence of a 3er but be more adventurous without being too radical to appeal to more customers.

The E93 cabrio is the most profitable 3er cabrio BMW has produced , so the car stays within the product mix meaning a hardtop will be retained for the next generation Cabrio. Both Coupe and Cabrio will follow the direction from the E92 and E93 and use different cues from the regular sedan and Touring just as BMW conceived with the E92/E93 when they were originally to be known as the 4er. The 3er Gran Turismo will offer a sporting shooting brake aimed at those who do not want the regular Touring.

This doesn't make sense, Tine. Either they went for a shorter lifecycle (doubtful) or the prototypes are being tested earlier than usual, but not both.

When you quote me I hope you don´t missunderstand my intentions. I´m not saying you´re a liar or sometinhg like that.

Back on the topic, when you tell us LED eyes you mean only that? As with the VED Concept? Or the tipical BMW headlights cluster with the LEDs inside?.

Oh, with "loosing a turbo" they meant losing one of two chargers?

Not that lifecycle is much shorter. Few months. BMW are no VW / Audi.
Also testing times are longer than in the past. Both is true.

F30/F35 Kidney Grill?

SCOTT, can you comment on F30 kidney grill? Are we expecting CS Concept type of kidney transformation (with kidney chrome embed inside the body shell, or it would be similar to current F01/F10? I hope it's not trapezoid 3D kidney grill.

Cant' quite picture how the front end will be. Yes I can see a bit of CS concept, and I can imagine CS headlights on that car but when Scott said there will be two LED eyes and then another separate light, I am lost. First I assume that "two LED eyes" will be similar to the ones on the Vision / M1 concept we have seen recently? How would that have any relevance to the CS? well, i think it's either or, but not both? At least the CS is lights inside a headlight unit, while the Vision style has eyes exposed. Well i mean, CS and the Vision are absolutely contradicting designs.
Secondly, why is there the need of a separate light unit? For instance the Vision do not require an additional light unit for main beam, i thought there is some special technology to make LEDs bright enough for main beams within the eyes? or perhaps place the xenon inside the eyes? For RRs, separate headlights are absolutely fine, but the 3er is a way smaller thing, and there will be fog lights too, it will be so loaded with lights at the front??
