Someone told me a few weeks ago to expect the F35 to be the same for the E90 as the F10 will be for the E60, but even more evolutionay. I think he has seen the car already, as he told me the shoulder line is very similar to the new 1er one, wich is also based on the X1, so curvy, with the front door handle signicantly lower than the back door one.

Not significantly, just a bit:

Compare it to the F10. It´s a different style that the one on the F01 and F10, it´s more X1 like. The new 1er is gonna have this style aswell.

Also, the shape of the back door reminds me a lot of the E46:

Proportions are just E90. It´s not bad, so no problem. But this is not a scaled down F10 Human. And I owned an E39, and this car is far from its proportions, don´t get overexcited. The only BMW car with similar proportions to the E39 is the F10.

It´s funny now to read Scott posts, as he described the side profile of the F35 as almost a copy of the CS one, and it´s evident that it´s not.

But I think it will turn out great, it´s a 3er, it can´t come out in a bad way. And an E90 proportion-like car with some of the new BMW design cues can be really good.

PD: btw, Doesn´t this remind you the pre-Bangle era? F01 it´s somehow like more agressive looking than the F10, don´t know how to describe it, but it´s the same as E38 vs E39. You can see it on the twin kidneys, for example, they are less shocking on the F10, and will be even more classy and elegant on the F35 (remember Scott said the kidneys would be smaller than F10 ones).

There goes my theory of a second facelift.

I would be really interested to know what the engine gearbox line up is for the new 3. Maybe Eni or Scott could leave a few bread crumbs.

Short overhang both front and rear with good proportion. Good profile with shark nose, near straight rear door edge, very compact F10 look. This could turn out to be the most anticipated 3er since E46!

Not sure on the disguised glass portion near C-pillar, it's not hofmeister kink.

Shape does remind E46, the rear door and how the C pillar joins the boot - the trunk on the E90 is nearly horizontal with the ground while the E46 (and F35)'s trunk is downward sloping. Surely will be different to the F01 F10 phenomenon, it's like the 1series and the 7series are on different ends in terms of design, and the 3 is more 1series orientated and the 5 is more 7series orientated.

Re above: what shows it's not hofmeister kind on the rear door? I think it is, but in addition if you zoom in there seems to be a second hofmeister kind on the body...
With that nose it reminds me of the Vision, but the car's overall shape still seems reasonably conventional, I can't imagine how this thing will look! but, at this stage that nose resembles something like a Mazda 3 or RX8.

Looks much more compact than F10. Really surprisingly similar to E90...

I do see e90, I looked too quick and thought I read e60.
