Don't know what inspired BMW to not hide hood opening with front grill instead have an ugly line showing across the front body like a Infiniti/maxima.

Did pedestrian safety requirements have anything to do with it? Something about the front fascia need to be more upright and less sloped? But I agree, I don't like the look of the hood line so far away from the grill.
