Re: Official: BMW E90/E91 Facelift Thread

^^ Awesome stuff buddy!! I decided to configure my own new 3er as well (and I don't know German either).

Here's what my dream 3er would be:

I naturally would have gone for a white exterior, but I thought I'd try and find another colour which looked great...and I think I found me one!

^ ... and 5er, 6er, X5 and soon new Z4

The answer is no, sadly. I guess it was too expensive for BMW to completely rework the electronics for the shifter for a 'mere' facelift. The old gearlever is operated mechanically, and the new one is drive-by-wire, electric.

Re: Official: BMW E90/E91 Facelift Thread

Im sure I saw an official press release pic with the 7speed 335 fitted with that shifter? I guess its exclusively for the 335's then?

I guess you mean the double-clutch transmission that is exclusively for the facelifted 335i and M3. All the rest of the 3-series range will keep Steptronic with the classic gear lever.

Re: Official: BMW E90/E91 Facelift Thread

^ You're right, but it's only for the 335i coupé and cabrio so far. the DKG is not available for the 335i sedan yet I believe.

The regular Steptronic automatic transmission is the same as before in all 3er models.

I made a mistake by saying that the paddle shifters will down shift when pulling towards the driver, it's actually the other way around... sorry I was sleepy at the time

I never had problems with the paddle shifters, it's something that you will get use to. I'd say go get a test drive from your local dealers, nothing can be said better than actually driving the car.
