But I catch your drift Merc....it would be highly unfortunate.

That is a little harsh and unfair to BMW buyers and buyers in general IMO. Because judging by the sales numbers, that is most BMW buyers and car buyers in general. Very few if any buyers know about pending facelifts and even fewer would think a facelift would come so soon after a new model was introduced, i.e. the M3. Who wouldn't want an M3 right now?

M3: I still don't understad why BMW revealed the M3 Sedan few months before the facelift. I mean if the for some reason had to reveal it at that date, why not give it the FL rear lights and present it as a sneak peak for the FL of the standard 3er. Audi did that with the RS6 (headlights).

That would be the logical move, postpone it 1.5 years instead of screwing over early adopters. The 911 face recently facelifted but the GT2 won't be touched until late 2009 or early 2010.
