My father soon to be 60 years old and I went to the MB dealer last weekend to look at t´he new C-class and there were four salespeople standing in a corner and talking.
No one show any intrest to help or talk to my father. Bad bad behavior, no help, no sold cars.

I would understand it if it was some guy in the 20's coming in but not a 60 year old person.

Went to a NISSAN dealership yesterday to look at the new X-trails, 350z and a new Fiat 500 they had there. I asked permission from a guy in his 40s, and he couldn't of been anymore rude about it, so then later we went back up to him and asked if he had any Boucher's on the new 350z and if the Fiat 500 was petrol or diesel and he just ignored us and walked off. Okay i understand he might not have been taking us as serious because I'm only 14 and it's not like i'm going to buy a car, but i want rude, didn't go in looking all scruffy but he didn't have to be soo rude about it

It was the same when my brother wanted to test drive a X5 because he was thinking about buying a 3.0d. He was in the mid-20s and the (old female) sales person showed no interest in speaking with him. Hell, she was wearing so many glittery stuff - she looked like a christmas tree. Then my bro' went for a Range Rover ...

Years later, when I bought a E93 at the same dealership, I talked about the 'X5-issue' with the sales manager. Believe me - he wasn't very happy about hearing this.

But u can't compare every dealer. The Porsche dealer gave me a Cayenne S for a whole day - while I was wearing camouflage trousers .

But you're right. Very often, sales guys seem disinterested ...

Edit - your Nissan dealer should better have look at this:

You should never let some random sales guy break you down. Just ask for the manager and snitch on them.

Re: M3 - No Test Drive - 05-30-2008, 03:24 PM

Sorry to here that story, specially as a BMW fan. I am 28 muself but when I went down to my dealer here in Belgium (jorssen) I was first adressed when entering by a friendly lady that asked if she could be of any assitence. I told here I was looking for a new car and she said I could look around and that wouls send someone over. 5 minutes later a salesperson was there to assist me, and has helped me very well so far. So that's where I am going tomorrow to get my final offer ( it's a company car so the leasing company will order it).
The Porsche commercial is really great!

Re: M3 - No Test Drive - 05-30-2008, 06:31 PM

I've never had problems like that with BMW and MB. Although I'll admit that M/AMG/RS cars are rare for test drives, simply because many dealers (at least here in Montreal) dont keep for demo, most that come are sold.

Audi are a bit like that here in Montreal... but my worse experience ever like with this type of behaviour was with Infiniti.

When I was shopping back in 2005 for a car, I was considering an Infiniti G35 sedan.

The moron told me that I needed to but an order in and leave a safety deposit before I can do a test drive. I was trying to explain to the moron that I wanted to test drive the car BEFORE making a decision on my purchase, but he only said that we can cancel the safety deposit if I change my mind.

And this was for a simple POS G35 sedan!!!! For Pete's sakes I test drove cars like the M Coupe, 6er and even an Aston Martin... but couldn't get behind a G35

So naturally I told him to f*** off.

So do like I did with the Infiniti guy (that's what middle fingers are for)... and go to another dealer.

I am in US and I test drove M3 at my local dealer and one other dealer. No problems. My dealer is in an upscale area but still talks nicely when I show up in jeans and T-shirt. You need to find a new dealer.
