And what is the big surprise? Usually, US-spec car weighs more than RoW. Example: MB C350 in Euro market weighs 1541kg (no driver, no luggage, but with full tank). US curb weight for C350 says 1643kg.

But you still used this data point in your avgs, didn't you? In regards to E92 and C63 comparison

Well, this is no doubt a very well equiped M3 E90, they will not come much heavier than this.

OK, 3726lb = 1690kg, right? 19" wheels, nav, nearly $10K in options don't count as standard equipment.

No, I did not. This is a newer test. Point is, this is no stripper. Period.

No the point is you used a C&D test weight in your E92 to C63 comparison also. To find out the E90 weight.

Re: C&D: M3 Sedan testdrive

uggh, I sense another painful thread about weights. One can can split hairs about options and credibility of the magazines endlessly but the fact is the M3 (be it sedan or coupe) is much lighter than the C63 and there are numerous tests to prove that.

Because C&D tested a Euro-spec E92. But nevermind that. We already agreed the Sport Auto supertest E92 was no stripper at all. 19" rims, EDC, nav, full leather, standard LSD, the works. We can add the weight of sedan (1608+25kg), moonroof (+17kg), and DCT (+20kg), and come up with a figure far lower than our reference C63 (Auto Motor und Sport; no LSD, no EDC, 18" rims). About 133kg lower.
