The new M3 Cabrio is reported to be the first to feature BMW's 7 speed double clutch transmission which will carry the label "M DKG" and is very similar to Volkswagen's six speed DSG transmission which uses 2 computer controlled switches to make shift changes both quicker and smoother. The 0 to 60mph time lies at 5.3 seconds which is 0.4 seconds slower than the coupe, largely due to the extra weight of the retractible roof. We aren't expecting to see the M3 Cabrio in the flesh until Geneva in March, but lets see if these leaked photos spur BMW into action sooner. |
