I really like this shot because it shows all the contours of the car, particularly the power dome on the bonnet and those big wheel arches.

Re: BMW M3 Launch in Sydney (Photos Included)

The black M3 is a demonstrator so the doors are unlocked for people to sit inside. I have only seen black on black interior in all the press release and magazine photos, so it was nice to see a bright red interior. It does lighten up the interior ambience and the red colour combines well with the carbon fibre effect leather trim to create a driving environment suitable for a car like the M3. The big bucket seat supports your body at all the right places without feeling uncomfortable. You sit just low enough in the car, and the driving position is pretty much perfect. Everything is within easy reach. I noticed the i-drive button is different from the normal 3 series. The solid machined metal i-drive rotary nob is bigger, and it feels cold to touch and more solid when you rotate it. I think the i-drive button regular 3 coupe is just silver painted plastic. It certainly didn't feel as nice to use as the one in the M3.
The only minor negative thing I can say is that the steering wheel is a bit to thick for my liking.

I spoke to one E46 owner and he doesn't fancy the interior of the new M3. He hates the top half of the dash design and he dislikes how the dashboard isn't driver orientated anymore.

I cannot get a got shot of the interior because people are constantly moving in and out of the car.

Just....wow

Fantastic shots man. Thanks so much for taking the time to upload and post them!
I've seen one M3 so far; my dealership has one in white, with all black interior and 18" wheels....They have the car locked and behind a fence so it's impossible to give it a proper inspection like have have done.

Thanks man I guess I am lucky to be invited to the party because I am not a BMW customer at all. After seeing the M3 in white from the motor show, and M3s in silverston and black from the party, my choice will be black. If i have the money I will buy that black one on display. Perfect colour, perfect interior combination.

I got some of the photos in 1600x1200, if you want I can send them out. I have more photos coming up, a few shots of the E46 M3 that won the people's choice award and the cool E30 Evo.

Re: BMW M3 Launch in Sydney (Photos Included)

The red interior combo definitely helps M3's interior. This one looks million times better than the one from press shots which looks very boring for M car.

Now, instead of leather upholstery, please put brushed alu instead and you have perfect combo M3 - Black exterior with red interior.

Re: BMW M3 Launch in Sydney (Photos Included)

This car won the people's choice award at the party. The owner said the car is 2 years old and he said the car has done some track day work. I asked him how does his M3 compare to something like a 911, he said the M3 is just as sharp and handle just as well as the 911, only the GT3 and the RS versions are better. I asked if he will trade in his car for the new M3, he said he likes his current car now, but he isn't really sure. I can see why, his M3 is in perfect condition and it still looks fantastic. Even after seeing the E92, the E46 doesn't look dated at all.

His Interlagos Blue M3, just look at those rims, they are in perfect condition.

The rims are like a perfect mirror. I have no idea how he can keep the wheels in this condition. I have never seen wheels in this condition before. You can even see the reflection of the sky on it.
