That is a monumentally impressive for a "lowly" 3 series coupe! I'm in love with this car. It can do no wrong.

The cup tyres does help a lot on the track and give it around 5 sec worth of advantage, right? A 8.03 is still massively quick

hard to say but yes tires make a difference. But its not something unique for BMW having good tires on, many carmakers do the same, like Audi and Porsche and Lamborghini.

Michelin pilot cups are R compound tires exactly like the Pirelli P zero corsas used on R8 and RS4 for the supertest - so M3 doesn't have any additional advantage over them.

M3 beating R8 (I'd say equaling, 1 sec doesn't really count over 8 mins) and beating RS4 by more than 5 secs on similar tires is absolutely phenomenal.

The laptime for RS4 is 8.09 min, not 8.13 min

great time..
but if i understand correctly.. you have to buy these tires yourself..
they dont come with the car.. or as an option right??

The tires come with the M Driver's package. Someone on M3forum is spreading incorrect info that the tires are not included.

Congratulations to M for a fantastic time!
