The UK’s allocation of BMW M3s has sold out. Some 700 cars were reserved for UK buyers for 2007, and they’ve all gone.
Each car was ordered with an average of £4700-worth of options – taking the averge price of the car up from £50,625 to £55,325.
The most-wanted option is apparently the 19-inch alloy wheels – the very same wheels that BMW’s chassis people reckon do nothing for the car’s dynamics.
One of the next most popular options was the DAB digital radio.
In 2008, sales are expected to top out at around 2000 cars – demand for the last M3 peaked at 1800 cars a year. The new saloon and coupe-convertible versions of the M3 will add to that tally.

A lot of happy E92 M3 owners there will be, the UK seems to be a HUGE market for M3's. However, the best has yet to come for the new M3.

Im not surprised, it was the same story with M5 and M6 in UK. All sold out.

BMW plans on selling 700 M3s in the UK this year, but if you haven't already put in your order, better luck next year. Not only are the Brits excited to get their own M3, they're also packing on the options, as this year's orders average £4,700, with the optional 19-inch rims being high on everyone's list. BMW is expecting the interest level to remain high into the future, as it plans to ship 2,000 of their 414 HP rocket ships next year.

It should come as no surprise that M3s are flying off the shelves right now, since BMW has added high-end V8 power to the already outrageously successful 3-series. We fully expect to see similar sell-out stories in other countries, including here in the US, as the M3 is one rockin' ride.

Have you placed an order?
My dealer told me the E90 has a longer waiting list than the E92 when I put my name down for the E90 M3.
So I won't be surprised if the E90 will be completely sold out when it is released.
