Quite possible,I would say.And that increase in rpm would give extra 15-20 HP minimum po power figure, atleast.I wouldn´t be suprised if CSL will have over 450 HP,just look new Ferrari 430 Scuderia V-8 for example(510 HP from 4,3 litre,if I´m correct) .

My take 450hp and revs increase to 8600rpm
About 150-300lbs shaved off.

Atleast 440-450. Weight savings...couple hundred pounds. Its not really the power gain, its the weight savings that will make this car even more of a monster!

This thing is going to slay tracks like nothing

The general opinion is that the power output will be raised to between 450 and 480 Hp. That seems alot to me.

Re: Your predictions on the upcoming M3 V8 CSL

I say hardly over 450... I'd question even those numbers...440 seems more realistic... But my fellow Croat vedjo01 has the point: think what Ferrari done with F430 Scuderia... Everything's possible...

That would be so sick! With the same power output that would give 472 Hp - i think that is not going to happen. Maybe my prediction of 434 Hp was a bit conservative but I think it will be much closer to the truth than 472 Hp.

Re: Your predictions on the upcoming M3 V8 CSL

Ferrari managed to pull those numbers without increasing displacement too; Standard F430 - 4308cm3 and Scuderia also 4308 cm3... Revs to 8500...

BMW can do that too, but that car would slaughter both M5 & M6 (till CSL version comes) in every possible way...

They managed it allright! Question is at what service cycle? At what life expectancy for the engine... 200,000 kilometers or 60,000? I do not know how long the M-division calculates that their engine will run but a figure closer to 470 Hp on such a large engine should cripple the life expectancy.
