Please tell me the FL 3er is getting the e-shifter in the X5/6, FL 5er/6er, and new 7er.

I think I read the 16th or something like that so it should be released next week in fact. Production is starting august so it's about time...

I think it suits those models better than it does the 1-series and 3-series.

The 3er deserves it more than the new 7er IMO. The new 7er should've kept the column shifter.

Why? this new shifter is just a gear lever to replace the 'conventional' gear lever, functionality is absolutely identical. The reason it didn't make it onto the 1series is probably the 3series at the time of the 1series facelift, was still on the old style gear lever and of course they didn't want to introduce something newer onto a lower model.

I don't know, but when I imagine it in a 3-series it feels a bit out of place. Maybe it looks to big in my mind? I guess the FL 3-series will feature the new gear lever and I will have to make up my mind as I see it...

It would look wrong to have it in a 1-series. Thats for sure.
