I still think something needs to be done to the headlights, but it doesn't look like they will nto do anything anywhere as dramatic as with the E46.

The headlight design is staying the same ... Only the inner background will be a bit different - and the most important new feature fill be the CELIS LED corona with Daytime Running Light feature: so the appearence will be much more dramatic with DRL switched on.

Btw, the cabin is getting much more premium appearence: with even more up-scale materials, trims, color combinations & some other features.




PS: MINI is also getting quite sever premium touch with the regular facelift - to be more prepared to A1 & Alfa Junior.

You mean as dramatic as E92/93, E60 LCI, E87 LCI...!?

Correct.

The difference is quite dramatic indeed - especially in combination with the new grille, hood & bumper. Much more aggressive overall appearence.

M3 sedan already has DRL feature - wearing E92 M3 nose.

I'm not sure what will happen with the tail lights though.
Will the M3 E90 get the new tail graphics (like standard FL E90), or not - I have no idea. The tail lights with new graphics could be a part of future MY update.

sorry my bad but what is DRL? daytime running light? but what is it? you mean the brighter angel eyes?

Really eager to see how much the front can change without changing those headlights.. those very angular headlights means the whole front end cannot go smooth..

Also eager to see what they can do to the interior. Compared with the 1 and 5series, the 3 has much less room for improvement. There is enough trim, maybe trim up the centre console as well? Don't think it will have new materials though.

Do you guys think it will lose that think piece of chrome on the top of the kidney grille?

Positive. The inner "angel eyes" are brighter.

More exposed "angel eyes" give the car meaner look, and redirect attention from the cluster shape to the round "angel eyes". Check the BMW cars with DRL angel eyes in person, and compare them to teh ones w/o DRL function - and you will see the difference I'm talking about.

Better material & other tweaks in the E92 style etc.

The upper kidney "lip" won't be as thick & exposed anymore. More incorporated in the kidney grille design.
