the I4 with HPI and 170hp and 0.64liters/100km seem to be wonderful engine. A real jewel.

JM, if it does 0.64 litres/100km then it's not a jewel - it's frikken diamond mine!

Interesting conversation going on here!
I too would probably choose the I6 over the I4, but the performance, consumption and weight of the whole car is better now so it's very tough. That new 120/320i/d is very, very good.

Problem is, the engine wasn't powerful enough to warrant its consumption... I would pay for fuel for a powerful engine, not a problem, but not when I don't get what I pay for.

But no doubt, it was refined and sounded great.
