Edmunds Inside Line - 2007 BMW 335i Sedan - 03-02-2007, 06:06 AM

While a 45-horsepower increase might not seem like much, the new engine invigorates the whole car in a way that's fabulous. We always knew BMW would get tired of backhanded compliments regarding the 3 Series and its harmonious dynamics. Now, with a competitive powertrain, the 335i can backhand its competition.

I gotta tell ya the praise on this car is getting monotonous and boring, it is just the good!

I don't get you here, Marcus...

What? You've had enough that everyone is praising this car or what?

Nope, I'm saying the car is competent, so brilliant that all the praise is getting a bit boring, predictable. This is a good "problem" for a car to have!

Most will never attain it.

Seriously though, it does set the bar pretty darn high for the M3 to clear.

Great car but the interior looks rather boring. It could be the color, however the seats look pretty damn plush!

Yea not a very warm combo i have to admit. Plus the car doesn't have Navi either, which imo kills the lines of the interior. Still an amazing machine though.

As an owner, I beg to differ. I like the interior layout honestly. It doesn't remind of being in a "space control centre". Not clustered with controls everywhere or geeky looking lights or buttons.
I think it is ergonomically well thought, although I will question some of the implementation style.
I would love see the Nav screen hump better integrated like the X5.
I would love to see the driver door controls a bit closer.
The cup holders seem to an after-thought, perhaps adopt the X5 position.
I would not mind having the gear lever and IDrive controller moved forward by 6 inches to make using the controller more natural.
Even with these little complains, I still love the simplified layout.
I think the interior is a classic example of "less is more".

You got that right.

Even those who admit it, will not admit in public, i.e: Jeremy Clarkson.
