Track day at Snetterton UK with pics - 04-17-2008, 01:20 PM

I Met with a friend from another forum today, Dario at Snetterton on a public track day he was attending with his Radical.

What an Awesome day..!

Now about Dario's Radical, it is fitted with a 1500cc Hyabusa lump which is tuned to 250bhp and the whole weight of the Radical is only 550kg (+drivers and passenger) = one QUICK MOTA

It was dry for the first session i was out as a passenger. So the slicks were on, i was belted up alongside Dario and the engine was fired up and we made our way to the pitlane
Ou onto the track and the first thing i was amazed by was the level on grip. Very grippy i thought. (Slick tyres). Not sure how old the rubber was, but once warmed though provided plenty of grip for the whole session!
The noise of the Busa engine is immense, it sounds so powerful and so loud that it hurt my ears even with my skid lid on
The last 2k rpm the tone changes and the engine pulls even harder before the upshift. Very much a sweet spot of the engine!

Dario driving and me in the passenger side, very low down, one because im short, two because the seat is set low and actually is lower than the drivers seat. Had been a long time since i donned my Arai.....

The 2nd session was wet but was still fun but not quite as fast!

Down the back straight i saw on the digital Speedometer 137mph although the data logger registered a GPS 133mph. So going pretty quickly in such a light race car.
We nailed SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many 911's it was unreal GT3's and GT3CS were long gone in the mirrors.
The only cars which came past us were TWO MIGHTY Mosler race cars which were out testing and totally Monstrous and also two other V8 powered Radicals

Some other cars which were out on track

GT3 CS
