Re: Do you feel guilty driving your car? - 04-05-2008, 09:52 AM

My dad definitely feels guilty. He drives two V8 luxury sedans and both drink fuel like there's no tomorrow. People ask us, 'why do you want to sell your A8 for a smaller car? It's already the best you can get.' because they don't understand how much wasteful we feel whenever we're at the pumps or whenever we look at the fuel consumption gauge. So in a bid to contribute, one way or another towards less emissions, my dad wants to sell his A8 to lower his carbon footprint. Hopefully, a diesel can do most of the commute and the Maser will be used just for those special days.

Is that a good idea? Or does anyone here think our plan is flawed. I know passing on the A8 to another person and then buying a new diesel is using more resources, does that actually mean we're increasing our carbon footprint? I'm not too sure to be honest.
