Ok, this is pretty bizarre piece of news, but I think I can see the logic behind it. As the new generations of Lexus are moving further and further away from their Toyota origins, Toyota needs a "new Lexus" sub brand, to fill in the gap which used to be occupied by Lexus. It could work, but I prefer Toyota to put more resources into the Lexus brand.
