I think that to a large degree, that is subjective. 'Excitement' is of course something all magazine road testers look for but that can mean different things to different people. I personally don't like the rear end losing grip and having to enter a battle with the laws of physics during fast cornering to stay alive. That's a bit like playing Russian roulette to me and I believe this is the biggest difference between the two camps, RWD vs. AWD. It's all a matter of which way you get your fun - not that any way is better - and I don't think for one moment that BMW's dynamics are any better than Audi's. Entertainment (under certain circumstances) perhaps, but not their ability.
