The German auto magazine "Auto Motor und Sport" is reporting that officially this is still considered a concept but that VW officials have said that it will not stay that way.

The prototype car has a 1.2 75-horsepower 3-cylinder gasoline engine with 190 Nm of torque plus a 27-horsepower electric engine. The power is brought to the wheels by a 7-speed DSG transmission which has been available for about 6 month now.

The average consumption in realistic driving tests has been quoted as 3.4 L / 100 km (69 mpg).
