| Mercedes Auctioning Original C-Class DTM Race-Car: Starting Price at €300,000 -

 For the first time in its history, Mercedes-Benz is set to auction one of its original racing cars from the DTM (German Touring Car Championships) and specifically, the “Laureus AMG Mercedes C-Class” with which Gary Paffett won the DTM race in Oschersleben last year. All the proceeds will go in aid of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation that funds social sports projects for children and young people. The auction, which will close on Friday, April 4, 2008, is to be handled by Christie’s. According to Mercedes-Benz, the minimum bid for the C-Class DTM will be set at 300,000 euros or approx $435,000. As an additional incentive, the bonnet of the race car will be adorned with the signatures of various celebrities including Boris Becker, Franziska van Almsick and Niki Lauda.
