The M3 I saw in real life was without the best looking car in the world to my eyes. If I had to pick a car on looks I would take the M3 I saw over any other car in the world.

The SL cannot b considered beautiful IMO. It is a cut and paste job to me. They tryed to make the car more modern but thr left the rear the same. It has to many design flaws in my eyes. I don't like it. I have tried to because I loved he previous generation SL, the facelift just wasn't for me!!
