Now that my C300 is in my garage, I see what looks like a battery mount in the trunk next to the spare tire. Is this where diesel models have their battery?

Looks like a good place to mount some kind of storage container since the car has so few places to keep things. I've been trying to order the trunk drawer (had one in my W203) but it seems to have become non-existent in the parts catalog.
