New rear bracket offers space for two bicycles

Wolfsburg, 26 June 2007 - As of today Volkswagen will be offering a rear bracket big enough for two bicycles as an accessory for the Fox. The retrofitted towing attachment is needed to install the bicycle rack. This means that the smallest Volkswagen can prove its talent as a flexible and robust travelling companion.

The aluminium-steel construction weighs 15.5 kg when empty and is mounted on the ball head of the towing attachment. A maximum of two bicycles, with a total weight of 35 kg and a frame work diameter of up to 80 mm, can be secured with a lockable clamping screw and safely transported. An easily operated hinged mechanism allows access to the boot space and its contents, including when bicycles are loaded on it.

The rear bracket comes with integrated rear lights and a holder for the number plate and costs €390. Volkswagen offers a two year guarantee for quality and workmanship.
